Social Justice Forum

The Invited Lecture Series “Comparative Understanding of Caste System in India and Japan” was organized by the Centre for Social Justice and Equity (CSJE), on 30.02.24 at TAG Auditorium, Madras School of Social Work, Chennai. The public lecture began with a welcome address by Dr. Pavananthi Vembulu, Director, Centre for Social Justice and Equity, Madras School of Social Work. Then, the speaker was felicitated by Dr. Raja Samuel, Principal, MSSW. Later, Mr. Gouthama Prabhu, President, Foundation of His Sacred Majesty (NGO), gave a brief introduction to the speaker and his profile. After the introduction, the speaker, Prof. Jonathan Watts, delivered his lecture. After the presentation, students raised questions, which were responded to by the speaker. This session was moderated by Dr.Gowthama Prabhu. 90 students from different departments participated. The program got over by the vote, thanks to Prof. Laxmanan, a former professor at MIDS.
